I consider my collage works to be my visual diary. At times, they can resemble a scrapbook of memories, while at other times they serve as an outlet for sketching and exploring ideas.

الْوَقْتُ كَالسَّيْفِ إِنْ لَمْ تَقْطَعْهُ قَطَعَكَ.

28 x 29 cm. A work originally intended as a gift for Ali from Iran, meant to be made in 2020.

Objects collected and created during our meeting at Arabkir Park in Yerevan during the lockdown period: a small abstract composition made with soil from the park on paper, with a piece of braided grass from the park passing through the paper; the pieces wood peel and leaf I used to make the abstract composition, a nut fallen from one of the park’s trees; my brother’s old Waterman fountain pen, which I later used for journaling; acrylic ink; and childhood crayons, all on a leftover piece of Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art printing paper.

The artwork was eventually made in 2026, but due to personal circumstances and the way the relationship developed, it never found its way to Ali.
